Find A Physician

Congratulations! You are about to take a big step toward preventative healthcare by signing-up for the Community Hospital Comprehensive Blood Chemistry Analysis panel at the reduced cost of $55.
THE PANEL CONSISTS OF:
Hemogram: A general evaluation of blood cells, oxygen carrying capacity, and iron stores in the body. Gives measurements of cells that can help detect abnormal cells, anemia and infections.

Comprehensive Metabolic Panel: A chemical survey of the blood serum that gives an indication of the overall functional status of internal organs. Some of the things measured are: electrolytes that are important to muscle functions and enzymes and other products of many organs. If anything unusual is noted, we recommend a call to your physician for follow-up. He/She may then order more specific tests to isolate an individual organ or problem.

Lipid Panel: Used, in part, to estimate heart disease risk. Lipids in the blood tend to deposit in blood vessels and can create a blockage to blood flow. This test provides a measurement of the levels of different lipids, like the so-called good cholesterol (HDL) and bad cholesterol (LDL) and components known as triglycerides. All of these components can help the physician determine if therapy may be indicated to lower the levels (and risk) of the undesired lipids.
TSH (Thyroid Stimulating Hormone): A method of screening for problems with the Thyroid gland. If elevated, the thyroid gland may not be producing enough of the thyroid hormones to provide "normal" metabolism. If low, the opposite may be true. Other factors have to be assessed to determine if an abnormal condition exists and are usually done as a follow up to this screening.

The testing will be offered at the Head to Toe Women’s Expo on Saturday April 5, 2008. To take part in this blood testing please note the following:

1) You must be 18 years or older.

2) For the most accurate testing it is important that you fast for 8-10 hours. You may drink water and take your regular medications.

3) Screening will take place at the Head to Toe Women’s Expo at the DoubleTree Hotel, on Saturday April 5, 2008.

4) Results will be mailed approximately 2 weeks following the test date. If you have questions regarding your results please contact your primary care physician.
