The Procedure Center at Community Hospital offers a new standard of excellence in customer service.

Part of our commitment to quality outcomes is that each conscious sedation patient is contacted by phone prior to their procedure to reiterate the procedure instructions and again in 24-48 hours after discharge to obtain a general impression of their condition and receive feedback on their experience. This personal contact reduces anxiety and helps the patient with any unanswered questions.

We are also able to supply patient with a broad assortment of quality educational materials on any medical condition or disease process.

Endoscopy Procedures
Upper GI Endoscopy or EGD
An examination of the lining of the food tube and stomach using a videoscope. The physician looks for any abnormalities such as ulcers, irritation or tumors.




Colonoscopy and Flexible Sigmoidoscopy
A videoscope is used to examine the lining of the large intestine. The physician looks for any abnormalities. These procedures are also used as a cancer screening test.

ERCP
Used to diagnose and treat conditions of the bile ducts, including gall stones, inflammatory strictures, leaks, and cancer.

Heart/Lung/Renal Procedures
Bronchoscopy
This is a procedure during which the physician uses a viewing tube to evaluate the patient's lung and airways including the voice box and vocal cord, trachea, and many branches of bronchi.

TEE
A diagnostic test to examine the function of the heart utilizing a probe. The physician then examines the function of the heart using equipment called ultrasound.

Bladder Scan (pre/post voiding)
This is a procedure used to assess bladder volume, urinary retention, and post-void residual volume. It is used to detect urinary tract infections (UTIs), urinary incontinence, enlarged prostate, urethral stricture, neurogenic bladder, and other lower urinary tract dysfunctions.

Cardioversions
Cardioversion is a brief procedure where an electrical shock is delivered to the heart to convert an abnormal heart rhythm back to a normal rhythm. Most elective or non-emergency cardioversions are performed to treat atrial fibrillation or atrial flutter, benign heart rhythm disturbances originating in the upper chambers (atria) of the heart.

Stress Tests
Serial electrocardiograms performed while the patient exercises on a treadmill until target heart rate is achieved, electrocardiograms continue through the resting recovery phase and the test is concluded when heart rate and blood pressure return to normal. This test is used to screen for coronary artery disease and physical fitness. This test may also be combined with Echocardiograms, Cardiolite scans. If the patient cannot walk on a treadmill drugs can be used to increase heart rate and/or cardiac vessel dilation.

With a written physician order we can do the following procedures:

    - Blood Transfusions
  5. Allergy Injections

  6. Therapeutic Phlebotomy
