The Birth Place at Community Hospital

In order to be better prepared for this joyous event, The Birth Place at Community Hospital offers two options for labor and delivery registration.

Baby Business

Before your bundle of joy arrives, we ask that you schedule a time to meet with one of our lactation and childbirth educators to get registered for your upcoming hospital stay. During this time you will also receive a tour of The Birth Place at Community Hospital. Please call The Birth Place at (970) 644-3369 to schedule an appointment.

Childbirth Education Classes

Childbirth Education Classes inspire the beginning of your parenting journey. Whether this is your first pregnancy, or you need an update on the most recent infant care practices, The Birth Place at Community Hospital offers parents a chance to learn about the newest techniques, methods, and options in labor and delivery. Science and research continues to expand our knowledge about preparing for childbirth.

What to expect during your childbirth education class:
  • Register for your upcoming hospital stay
  • Tour The Birth Place at Community Hospital

  • Topics include:
    - Pain in childbirth/relaxation and its importance
    - Anatomy and physiology in pregnancy
    - Stages of labor
    - Positioning
    - Medications during labor
    - Natural and pharmacological pain control options
    - Preparation for hospital stay
    - Breastfeeding
    - Newborn care basics
    - Postpartum care

    Classes are $50 per couple.* Class size is limited to 10 participants as a precautionary measure due to COVID-19. You and your partner are invited to attend. Mask use and physical distancing are required.

    Classes will be from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. in the Legacy Conference Rooms. Lunch will be provided at The Flying Pig at Community Hospital.
