Community Hospital Pulmonary Rehabilitation

Community Hospital proudly offers pulmonary rehabilitation for individuals who have a lung disease such as chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). Our pulmonary rehabilitation programs is designed to help people who have lung diseases live and breathe. 

What Should You Expect?

Orientation: Staff will review your medical history and lifestyle habits and help create appropriate goals. 

Exercise Testing and Prescription: An exercise test will be performed to establish a baseline to thoroughly track your progress in the program and create an appropriate exercise plan. 

Exercise: An individualized workout plan will be created from the exercise testing. We’ll teach you self-monitoring concepts for use in the Pulmonary Rehab gym as well as outside activities. 

Education: Monthly education classes are offered to anyone attending our Pulmonary Rehab program. Various wellness topics will be discussed by our integrated group. 

Support Network: Patients have the opportunity to work with others in the pulmonary rehab program with similar diseases and share experiences. This unique camaraderie provides an additional layer of support throughout the program.

Candidates for Pulmonary Rehabilitation

Pulmonary rehabilitation is a service designed for those who experience lung issues such as:

  • Sarcoidosis 
  • Pulmonary Hypertension 
  • Pulmonary Fibrosis 
  • Interstitial Lung Disease 
  • Lung Cancer and Lung Cancer Surgery 
  • Lung volume reduction surgery before and after lung transplantation
